When Leighton Meester steps onto the red carpet, she's a fashion force to be reckoned with. The Gossip Girl's ensembles get more and more refined with each event. Sometimes she's super sexy, others ultra femme, and from time to time a full-on movie star in floor-grazing gowns. She's constantly switching it up, that's why she's refreshing to follow. But such was not always the case. When Leighton first hit the red carpet in 2003, her uniform of choice was jeans and fancy tops. A lot has changed since then, including her hair color. Take a trip down memory lane to see Leighton's impressive fashion metamorphosis. Read More »

Just when we thought there couldn't possibly be any more ways to wear braids, who better than trend-setting Lauren Conrad to bring us back in? At the Hollywood Style Awards last night in LA, the former reality show star styled her signature waist-length extensions in not just one side-braid, but two intersecting plaits. Celebrity stylist Byron Williams of the Byron and Tracey Salon created the look for Lauren, using her multihued frock as inspiration. "We wanted to get it as narrow as possible because we didn’t want to overwhelm the dress," Williams said. "It was side-parted, and we French braided both sides. It’s kind of half-up, half-down." To finish off the look, he combined the two braids to create a "headband" in the back. Want some tips on getting the overlapping braids for yourself? Follow the link after the gallery. To get Williams's advice, just keep reading. Read More »

I've never been a huge fan of navy, but Ciara has me thinking twice. At the Originals by Originals Adidas launch in LA, the singer donned a modern navy cutout dress that exudes sleek style. Sizzle. You don't have to show skin — though I would — to exude this contemporary attitude, just focus on streamlined cuts, funky embellishments, and an avant-garde aesthetic. Hmmm, crisp cobalt also made a recent comeback. Could it be the return of blue? I think so . . .

Blue might just be having a moment. From oceanic polish colors to recent avant-garde looks we saw on the runway in New York, perhaps there is a slight resurgence of the cool-toned shade as of late. Do you think that blue is cool but don't want to run the risk of looking totally '80s? Let's look at Jennifer Garner for inspiration. At the LA premiere of The Invention of Lying, Jennifer proved that blue doesn't have to look outdated or aging. The actress, who wore a smoky, muted version of the tone, paired the look with complementary pink cheeks and lips, keeping the palette from becoming too Smurfy. Read More »

Last night we sat excitedly watching the

Victoria Beckham was probably so proud to see Blake Lively donning her stunning creation at the Saks Fifth Avenue soiree in NYC. It doesn't take much for the Gossip Girl to shine, but I can't help but be blinded by the crisp cobalt hue. This bold blue is once again popular, and I can see why. It's simultaneously daring, yet sleek, and complements every skin tone. Try this bright blue on a dress, like Blake does, or pair it with neutral separates. I've always been a fan of wearing it with gray for a downtown sophistication.
