Hopefully, many of you will recognize the title from the Jack Black/Kyle Gass satirical rock band 'Tenacious D'. I felt it was a fitting title to discuss a genre of the music scene which goes largely ignored, the tribute band. A tribute band is basically a group of adoring, talented fans…

Frances Bean, daughter of Courtney
Love and the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, recently celebrated
her Sweet 16, but it strayed far from the abundantly girly, pink
party motif that we've become accustomed to. Sure, wacko mom
Courtney spent over $323,000 on the bash, but we're guessing...

"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me,” says Courtney. “I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do." Read More »

This hurts.
It has been well documented in photos that Kurt Cobain was a wearer of Converse sneakers. In fact, as a grungy, flannel wearing fan girl, I bought a pair of One Stars because just because he wore them.
Now, 14 years after his death, Converse is issuing a series of Kurt Cobain Converse to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary. Well... happy birthday, Converse, but this is so horrible and wrong. I can’t really see any fan of Nirvana—older or younger—who would buy these. It feels sacrilegious!
