The Adam Walsh case was finally closed this week. Why is it that the closure of a 27 year old cold case could grab such national attention? Surely not because it was a kidnapping - unfortunately, thousands of kids are abducted each year and we don't learn of most of them. Is it because of the horrific discovery of his decapitated head? That definitely must have held people's attention at the time, however this alone is not the reason for his enduring memory. The actions taken by Adam's parents John and Reve Walsh since his death are why he remains a household name to this day.
