On Friday afternoon we heard
Jennifer Lopez was poised for yet another musical comeback with a
hot new single called "Louboutins" off her upcoming sixth
studio album entitled "Love?". Talk about brand
recognition! The whole chorus pays tribute to the pricey red-soled
heels. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (12) | Blog

Normally I wouldn't write about something this specific—and I'm certainly compelled by stylish people of all ethnicities—but I thought this was interesting: There was a story last week in the Latina pop culture blog Guanabee.com called "The Top 5 Most Stylish Latinas Who Matter." Among the picks were lesser-known women like newscaster Natalie Morales and ballerina Alicia Alonso and the story's point seemed to denigrate (or perhaps actively insult?), popular Latina celebrities who I actually think matter quite a bit. The explanation? "Because we’re not all tacky and not all famous Latinas who happen to be singing, dancing actresses with clothing lines." Point taken, but really? J.Lo—for whatever her multiple annoying qualities—is not terribly tacky and I'd argue that the women of style who matter are women who are able to influence others. Thus, they must be well known. Here are my three (kind of obvious) choices. What do you guys think? Read More »

Now listen, I am not a J.Lo hater, in fact I like me some Ms. Lopez more than I should probably admit (I was once so addicted to her My Love Don't Cost a Thing video that I downloaded it to my desktop and watched it maybe 7-14 times a day). But I don't know if I can handle this news: According to People.com, Mrs. Marc Anthony will co-create, co-star and co-produce a "docu-series" about juggling her new role as a mother and the launch her new perfume.

Really J.Lo? You want to sell poor little Max and Emme down the paparazzi river before they can even crawl? I mean, I know you don't need the money. I saw that spread in People where you and Marc A. were prancing around like the richiest rich... Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (55) | Blog
