No, it's not a fancy softball pitch; "the lob" is actually a term for a long bob (a.k.a., a shoulder-length bob, or what happens when you try last season's trendy bob and let it grow out for a couple months).According to Pantene celebrity hairstylist Hallie Bowman, the lob is the hair cut for fall. And if you were one of the many, many people to try out the Posh-bob (or Pob, the fun names never stop people!) then you probably already have it.
Didn't succumb to the last uber-trendy cut? Well, you might want to cave in for the lob. Bowman says it's flattering on just about everyone and it's so versatile -- you can wear it straight, curly, wavy, flipped out, up, down, pretty much any way you could think of.
Check out these lob-style how-tos below for some guidance. I don't know about you but I think there's a date with the scissors in my future (I was one of the very few who didn't go down the Pob road).

When you're sitting in the chair at the salon, and your stylist is listening to you gab away about your latest date, did you ever wonder what he or she is really thinking? Not to burst your bubble, but it's entirely possible that your stylist is debating how much interest she should take in your story based on how much you tipped on your last visit.

It's such a simple question, but with so many answers. I have friends that spend upwards of $200 on a hair cut, and others who wouldn't fork over more than $20 -- including tip. Me? I don't pay anything (one of the perks of having a mom who's a licensed cosmetologist).
When we asked TotalBeauty.com readers how much they pay for hair cuts, we got a ton of varied responses: Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (72) | Blog

Why oh why didn’t this article exist when I was younger?! It would have saved me the embarrassment of those thick bangs in my 10th grade picture or stopped me from wearing that awful updo to prom (one of these would have been so much prettier).
At least now I know better (and I will never again wear this style). But what about you? Do you know what hairstyle best suits your face? Check out the pics below to find out. Read More »- Let’s talk: Comment (354) | Blog

I'm not ashamed to say that I have a total girl-crush on Halle Berry. Why? Let me count the ways: 1. Her skin is always glowing (she must be using one of these regularly). 2. She switches up her look so it's never boring (unlike, ahem, this celeb). 3. Even when she's all glammed up, she still seems like a normal gal you could totally hang with.

It's official: Bobs have taken over as the hair cut to have. It's not too surprising though, since unlike the pixie cut (which only works if you have a face like this celeb) or long layers (which can be a pain to maintain), a bob works for pretty much any face and any lifestyle. Don't believe me? Check out these stars, they all have different face shapes and are all rockin' the bob. Read More »
