My husband and I are atheists. My husband's parents are devout Christians. My three year-old daughter loves spending time at her grandparents' house reading their countless old books. My husband and I hope our children will one day discover their own truths about god, based on all sorts of different exposures — when they are old enough to weigh information and make educated decisions; not through indoctrination. How do we explain to our young child this concept we adamantly don't believe in, without potentially offending her grandparents? -Are You There God? Its Me, Mommy Read More »

"This is our chance to march forward. I cannot promise you that the reforms we seek will be perfect or make a difference overnight. But I can promise you this: if we pass health insurance reform, we will look back many years from now and say, this was the moment we summoned what’s best in each of us to make life better for all of us" Read More »

This is a topic that's not gonna get a lot
of play from the Obama camp. People would call bringing a
17-year-old pregnant girl into a political debate just mean. I
don't care; I think it needs to be discussed because Bristol
Palin's situation launches a fiery hot cannonball right into...
