I've made a lot of New Year's resolutions for 2009. I want to read more books, travel to a place I've never been, learn to speak another language, return my mother's phone calls, start flossing more regularly, and, also, I want to be skinny. Not skin-sagging, ribs-jutting-out, boobs-on-a-stick, idiot skinny. I want to be thin again, small, instead of medium. I want to stop having to plan my outfits around needing a disguise for lumpy parts. I want to not worry what position I'm sitting in when I'm wearing a pair of shorts. I want to stop thinking about the extra flesh on my body the way you stop thinking about a self-consciousness making wart once it goes away. I want to be slim. I know you know what I mean.
