Do you really need a Brazilian wax these days? That's the question a woman posed to the Times of London, after a new beau was "shocked" by her presence of pubic hair. In her letter, she says, "I don’t think that a permanent tan and Brazilian wax should be dealbreakers in a relationship. Or am I just hopelessly outdated?" Read More »

I was reading Daily Mail columnist Liz Jones’ latest crazy rant (today the subject is unwanted body hair) and it was just as bats**t and entertaining as usual, until I came across the following description in regards to a cousin of the Brazilian bikini wax:
“Then there is its more extreme stablemate the Hollywood, which takes away everything, leaving the bearer distastefully childlike.”
How did I miss out on this terminology? Was I absent that day during beauty school? Are YOU getting this done!?

I've been searching for a new waxing esthetician, someone who can make it easy for me to hit the beach without showing the world my lady garden. This is more difficult than it might seem, especially because bikini waxes are no, uh, trip to the beach. Every time I try a new place, I worry that I'll have inadvertently stumbled upon the Cruella DeVille Haus of Hair-Ripping, and that I will be tarred and de-feathered by someone with a serious sadistic streak. Foolishly thinking there was something better out there than this little razor, I tried an at-home waxing kit. (Ouch.) Then I moved on to a Brazilian wax. (Double ouch!) Now, make no mistake: Completely Bare has revolutionized crotch care everywhere. They have very high standards when it comes to beneath the border landscaping, and I'm a big fan of many of their excellent treatments and especially their very cool owner and beauty expert Cindy Barshop.
However. I'm not sure how I feel about the Bikini Bump Blaster.

We've been talking a lot about DIY lately as gas prices and other inflation is really cutting into our beauty budget. Now, pretty much every well-heeled Product Fiend worth her salt in New York has been laid out on the Completely Bare waxing table (whether it be for wax or for their signature laser treatment), and uses their quite excellent sal acid ingrown hair preventing Bikini Bump Blaster for follow-up care. My first waxing for my nether-region is just a few days away and I arranged to get a bikini wax at my spa. But now that I've invested all that time to grow out the monstrosity happening down there, I'm thinking "I"ve gone this far, why not go all the way?" I've heard... Read More »

There comes a time in every woman s life, especially when she blogs about sex and love, that she sets her attention on bikini waxes. I know, been there done that, ouch! But bear (bare) with me for a bit and let me indulge my own thoughts about this process. I'm a bikini wax convert, and go for... Read More »
