Qi
The principles of feng shui aim to create harmony
between you and your environment, enhance your well-being and
eliminate the negative effects of your surroundings. This ancient
Chinese philosophy is based on nurturing positive energy, called
qi, to live a peaceful, healthy life. Elements of feng shui are
said to promote your prosperity and foster positive relationships,
especially at work. In turn, the negative energy flowing throughout
our lives is labeled sha qi. This negative energy can collect up in
your work space in pointed corners, through piles of clutter and
because of unharmonious floor plans.

"During these days of soaring unemployment, it's more
critical than ever to honor the relationship between boss and
employee. Never are those energies felt more acutely than today,
'National Boss/Employee Exchange Day.' If you're
looking to make your mark in the office and impress the person
responsible for your reviews and rewards, then it's important
to assess the 'Fame' area of the main floor of your living
space. Located at the back center or the middle of the far back
wall of the house (looking in from your front door, divide the main
floor of your home into a tic-tac-toe board. The area to which I
refer would be considered the top center grid or square). Into this
space place an image or a picture of a peacock. According to Feng
Shui, the peacock symbolizes another high-flyer, the phoenix. These
birds are believed responsible for bringing the 'employee'
recognition, bonus and big boons from the boss. The phoenix can
rise from the ashes as well, so even if you've been having a
hard time at work, this adjustment will activate energies of
transformation of your reputation. If you're really hoping to
heat up your 'Q' factor, then you can also hang a picture
of a phoenix or peacock at the entrance to your office. Then sit
back and wait as opportunity for increased exposure and rewards
literally fly through your door. Now, isn't it about time for
you to get out and strut your stuff?"
