I noticed a woman on the subway the other day with barely any makeup and her hair swept into a neat little bun, wearing a long, plain sundress with flat sandals—nothing fancy. But she had on one simple accessory that made the whole outfit look really chic: a big, earthy-colored, beaded necklace, somewhere in between a choker and a long chain. Maybe my inspirational moment has something to do with Michelle Obama's oversize pearls, but this type of necklace is my favorite piece of jewelry right now.
