How do you keep yourself from drunk dialing?
editor
So I had a bunch of lovely friends over this weekend, and somehow
the conversation turned toward drunk dialing. You know how it can
be: You just broke up with someone you're convinced you may or may
not be still in love with, you've had a couple cocktails, it seems
like a great idea for you to contact said person and express your
undying love for them and possibly convince them that you never
should've parted in the first place. Yet it never fails that the
next day you live to regret the drunk dial, right?
People have resorted to the craziest things to prevent this from
occurring in the first place. One person put her phone in the
freezer, (possibly the worst idea since well, drunk dialing).
Others remove their battery and while this is effective, becomes a
bummer when it's M.I.A. the next day. The cumulative question here
is, what is the best way to prevent the party foul that is drunk
dialing? Anyone? And have you ever had a drunk dial that resulted
in anything less than, "Oh man, what was I thinking?"

Change your phone's screen backround to say "I wouldn't if I were you in the morning"

I don't drunk dial unless, I have a friend tell me to call them when they know I am drinking.I don't yell or cry, I just try to carry on a normal conversation and they think it is funny.

I just had a recent breakup like 3 months ago. Before him i could get over guys easily. It was nothing to go out have some drinks, party, then take my a#% to bed. After this guy i thought that i could jump back into my party habbits easily. So not true. Each time i went out i'd feel just "ok" in the nightclub. And dont let them play some sad stuff. Please believe i was the first one at the bar. When i left though...yes i was a culprit of drunk dialing. Or shall we say drunk texting. Because our situation was that bad to where didnt even speak on the phone. I would wake up and look in my outbox like WTF? I wrote this? Thankful to say, i dont do that anymore. I also cut back on clubbing and alcohol consumption. The only way to get over it, is to get over it.

if you are sad, and find yoursel voulnerable, leave your phone in the car, or just give it to someone who is not drinking, and that you trust and try to enjoy yourself and stay distracted.

Leave your phone at home. Most of my "drunk dials" have been in the cab or backseat of a friends car on the way home from the bar/club. By the time I got home I was too tired to do anything but, undress and fall asleep! :)
