Hookers wanted: The sex-trade industry expects big business during political conventions

Those involved in the sex trade in Denver and the Minneapolis area are gearing up for some big business.

ABC News reports that prostitution will get a boost during the political conventions being held in these two cities in the coming weeks, and online ads indicate the industry pros are getting themselves ready.

"We know it's going to rise," Vednita Carter of Breaking Free, a Denver-based nonprofit which helps women and girls involved in prostitution and sex trafficking, told ABC. "That's what we've been hearing from women who are involved in that life."

"Republican Convention Party Entertainment Hostesses wanted," reads the headline of one "erotic services" ad from the Minneapolis area on CraigsList.org.

A quick search by wowOwow.com found another ad from Minneapolis titled, "Convention goer from DC seeks Asian." The ad text says: "Coming to town with Republican convention seek attractive asian woman for week! It will be a five star ride in every way no expense spared!!!"

Another one posted by a woman offering her services says: "If you are coming to the Republican Convention next month and need a distraction I'd be happy to come by. First timer, nervous CD: ht/wt proportional, wm, safe, sane, professional working in st. paul, ultra discreet."

In the Denver section, one finds the likes of posts titled "Support Your Colorado Entertainers (aka, prostitutes). Other women tout in their postings their proximity to the Pepsi Center and convention sites; "loft, downtown by pepsi cntr and coors field& convention cntr also."

In another Denver ad, "Rebecca" explained that she was offering a special convention rate of $350 for two hours but to qualify, clients must "provide proof of dem. Membership." "Rebecca" confirmed to ABC that responses to her online ads had increased in the days leading up to next week's convention.

In Minnesota and in Denver, victims groups are planning to distribute leaflets and other material outside of convention events. They are particularly concerned about young girls who might "get pimped out by older men" to the cities' guests.

Prostitution has been around since the dawn of time. I may not approve of that type of "working girl", but if they're gonna do it, make it legal. As far as politicians are concerned, they're kinda like prostitues...selling themselves to get our vote and other contributions. America maybe beautiful, but she had to do some trickin' to get things done.

Its so funny when politicians get caught w/ their pants around their ankles. They act like little boys about to be publically spanked. They start off their stupid speaches like, "I'm not a perfect man"....

There is a lot of sex going on in this country and the only difference is that hookers are clever enough to charge for it. Its better to charge for it than have to beg for money to cure VD and at least a hooker is well prepared for the repurcurssions and mostly uses protection for risky sex. I can tell you that if u caught a VD it would not be from a hooker but from the naive babe searching for mr. right (whatever that means).

Have some class and charge for it or have no sex at all!!!! Why risk your life for FREEEE!

You are a prostitute (male/female) whether you charge for the sex you have not.

Sweetbabe, you got it! Dr. Laura (and no, I don't agree with everything she says...) calls women (but I think men should also be included)who are engaging in sex, while looking for Mr. Right, "unpaid w----s". And, honestly, having sex without a commitment is whorish. At least prostitutes get paid, and like you mentioned, are sure to protect themselves from disease. If one is in a commited relationship, and the male or female goes outside for sex with a prostitute or "unpaid w----", it is the ultimate betrayal and the relationship is over. You can't say you love someone and then go and f*** someone else. Come on!

And after all is said and done, they are tring to get us to turn to families to make our lives better, not to let the government take careof our children and to marry so that we will have "stable" lives. They are a bunch of hypocrites, they preach about home and family while they're off giving signals in the men's bathroom.

What if your wife got disgustingly fat and no longer wants to have sex because she is ashamed of how she feels?
