The works of “Breath 2008” series are a reflection on the
process of our experience and their correlation to real events and
time. It attempts to explore how moments can
evolve into eternity and a large span of time can apparently shrink
into oblivion based on the impact of events on our
lives. Chronology is essentially skewed in the
context of life experiences and “Time travel”, comes into
effect. One relives real experiences or
expectations of them as in “Garden of Eden revisited” as if
travelling “through the looking glass”! “Breath
2008” explores changes in time and spatial directions and draws
imagery from playing card as in the layout of “Breath of time”, as
also in the plot of Lewis Carol.
The Merriam Webster dictionary describes the word, “Wait” as, “to stay in place in expectation of”; the painting derived from the works of an African poet, who epitomizes intense hope in “The Unknown Feeling”, attempts to capture a “willing suspension of disbelief” in order to embrace unfolding events with inspiration rather than desperation or judgment.
