1955 - Somewhere in California
Tru stood there confused as ever. The feelings she felt
inside were startling and greusome. She could not soak
up what her eyes saw and almost vommited as well. She pushed
herself away from the door and made her way into the bathroom
across the hall where she puked onto the marble bathroom
floor. 'Didn't make it,' she
thought as she wiped the back of her hand against her mouth and
reached to turn the faucet on.
The water slushed out at first making a gurgeling noise and then
came full force into the basin of the sink. Images flashed in
and out of her mind and she tried to focus on her reflection in the
mirror. The water had turned hot and started to create a fog
of steam around her. The mirror was covered in a condensation
of water and as Tru wiped away the steamy layer, she screamed a
ripping noise from her throat.
She backed away from the mirror and hit the door behind her with a
force that nearly broke it off it's hinges. She looked
away from her reflection, shaking her head furiously from side to
side and muttering to herself; 'What the hell happen to
me?' Tru asked herself, but no answer came. She took
a breath and turned to the mirror with eyes shut and slowly opened
them. In the reflection, she saw the horrific sight in front
of her.
Her long mohagany hair was matted with blood as the rest of
her. The only thing she could see was the whites of her eyes
and the rest of her was stained with blood. She looked at her
bloodied nightgown down to her feet and everything was completely
covered in blood, but who's blood? It seem her memory had
been wiped and all she could remember from the bedroom to here was
vommiting. 'The bedroom...' whispered into
her mind.
Tru did nothing at first but stood there still. She slowly
turned her into the opposite direction and swallowed hard as she
faced herself back to the hallway and across to the bedroom.
She heard nothing but the wind blowing outside and inconsistent
tapping of the old oak tree branches, scrapping up against the
window in the bedroom. Making her way slowly back to the
bedroom, she brushed her hand slightly up against the hallway wall
as she made it to the outside of the bedroom door. It was
slightly ajar, blocking the rest of her view to what was in the
room.
She grew restless as she found herself directly in front of the
door. The floorboards creaked underneath her feet making it
hard for her to concentrate. Tru took a deep breath in and
pushed the door opened. It was dark so she couldn't see
much and took a step forward into the room. Her foot
stepped into something cold. She reached to her right and
started to feel for a light switch. Her fingers daintly felt
the switch and with holding her breath, she turned the light
on.
The sight almost made her scream again, but this time, Tru slapped
her hand over mouth from screaming. In every direction, blood
was on the walls, the floors and her memory flashed into her mind,
slamming her back into reality. 'Oh God no!'
Tru screamed into her head. Her memory flooded back to her as
she knew what happened. She didn't want to acknowledege
it, disgusted with herself...
