So. We at $30 Date Night are all for unique and fun date ideas, but we also know that a lot of you love the movies… and we don’t want to begrudge you one of your favorite date nights out… but if you are going to do it, do it with flair! Remember, it only takes a small injection of novelty to make it a butterfly-inducing date!
Here are five ideas to help make the movies a bit more interesting.
The Outdoor Cinemas – So many cities
around the world are breeding Outdoor Cinemas every summer and they
show a great variety of new, cult classic and old favourite movies.
Pack a picnic, a bottle of bubbly and a rug and snuggle under the
stars while you watch.
The Drive-ins – When was the last time
you fooled around in the backseat of your car? The Drive-ins are
the perfect excuse to do just that! Get your own snacks from the
supermarket first and steam up the windows during the previews and
the boring bits.
Rooftop Cinemas – Innovative bars and landmarks are making use of their unused rooftop spaces... and what a way to watch a movie, with city lights as far as the eye can see!
The Classic Theatre – Find a movie theatre that plays the classics and the cult movies – usually you’ll get a double bill for the price of one! Think Stanley Kubrick, It’s a Wonderful Life, Little Shop of Horrors. Find out what your date's favorite childhood movies are and look them up in the program.Movies for the New Millennium - Take a laptop or portable DVD player outside at night and set up your own little outdoor cinema or drive in movie. Find a remote part of the world where you won't be disturbed and of course, pack a romantic picnic for two to top off the experience.
Do you like the movies as a date idea or do you prefer something a little more creative and different?
