THE BLANKET

Last night my boyfriend and baby had an argument about a blanket. It's a blue silky blanket, her Grandma told her she could have. He's been sleeping with it on his bed. She wanted to take it and he wouldn't let her have it. She got mad and I told him to give it to her.....after all it is hers, he said no and started yelling. This upset me and I told him he was wrong and selfish. He didn't see he was wrong in making his child mad over nothing. I think this is so immature it's sickening. He is 39 and she is 4, why do people act this way? He has forgotten about the incident, but I have not. Anybody out there ever encounter these type of situations? If so, let me know about your experiences.

Looks to me like you have two kids. What is wrong with your boyfriend? He seems very immature. Why didn't you put a stop to it right there and then?

First off, I wouldn't let my child take the blanket. You didn't say she asked for it, she tried to take it which regardless of who's trying to get it is wrong without asking first. But, for your bf to be such a jerk and not give it to her anyway is out of line. I can't believe he would be so insensitive to a little girl.

Let me rephrase, at first my daughter asked her dad for the blanket, and he said no. Then she started tugging on it and so did he. Anyway, he is acting childish, but I still love him. I just wish he'd grow up.

Look honey, how can she learn to share and not throw a fit if her dad can't? Children micmic the actions from their parents and your daughter is learning how to be a selfish brat from her dad. I agree with the previous poster that you should have told her to ask for the blanky then dady will give it to you.

He will not grow up until you tell him his behavior is not ok

the first thing that came to mind is that he could easily become a controlling person. i understand that you love him, but it's your responsibility to keep your kid and yourself safe. even if being safe means that you have to get away from him. i agree with everyone else, he is a big immature jerk. if he doesn't even seem bothered by it and forgets, just shows that he's been likie that for a while. that's so stupid of him, that i can't even start to imagine everything i would describe him as.

-remember... you need to keep your kid safe!
