Report AbuseHi juandollar, Thank you for reaching out. Many changes are taking place in my town and they are somehow bringing us all back to the 'return to simplicity' which is long overdue. People have become humble. Businesses and restaurants are closing....eating at home and modest spending habits are on the rise. People are losing their jobs, they are behind on their bills....family and friends extend their hands in order to help. Holidays gift giving has diminished.....we are learning to celebrate the 'spirit of the season' rather than overindulge our loved ones with material objects which will collect dust, be discretely re-gifted, donated or returned to the store.
We can look at this domino effect as being negative or positive depending upon our perspective. I personally am grateful my children now see that we need to give thanks for everything we normally would take for granted. Best wishes..... from *gratefulgirl*

Report AbuseI think you have a great point there. I used to be able to go out more and do more things, but now with the economic crisis, it's near impossible to afford to do as much as I would like. It IS like breaking a circle of sorts. I hope that down the road things will look up, and that circle can be re-established again. If people would quit being so materialistic, it would help. Don't people understand that THINGS don't make you happy??? I would rather have family and friends than things anyday. Great post! I'm TasselLady!! Nice to meet you!!

Report AbuseI hear the message, and i never wavered on what turns my any given day that life has given me as long as i had my health. I also remember and (fear as i speak) looking out a hospital window with no hope of the cost it will take to bring me back. I say this with the message of the many people out there that are so doomed with their future and worst yet their health. It's so nice to think positive when you have or are winning your bet for today. The eye of the needle is really as small as it looks.
