"I think it's fair to say that had I not been a Stevie Wonder fan, Michelle might not have dated me," said President Barack Obama. "We might not have married. The fact that we agreed on Stevie was part of the essence of our courtship."
The East Room of the White House was transformed into a concert hall, where Wonder, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Martina McBride, Paul Simon and will.i.am all performed.
Michelle Obama admit that Wonder's “Talking Book” was the first album she ever bought, and that his song, "You and I," served as the couple's wedding song.
Apparently the love is totally mutual. Stevie Wonder said he was incredibly grateful towards Obama's presidential vision "so that in my lifetime I can write some more songs about love, about unity, and real songs of passion." And, he added, "You know, maybe I'll be a part of creating some more of those babies." Man, we love Stevie. [People]
