Shine Beauty Panel: The one beauty product I couldn’t live without-- my flat iron

It's said that you always want what you can't have-- while this isn't always true, it is when it comes to your hair. Nearly every woman I know who has straight hair yearns for a little wave or a loopy curl. And, every girl who has curly hair rues the mornings when she wakes up and her hair looks more like a poodle than not.

My hair falls in between-- some days its naturally curly, and some days its naturally straight. That's why the one beauty product I can't (and couldn't) live without is my flat iron. With it, I can tame my mane on a humid day, or, if desired add a little more curl.

After trying ten different flat irons, it's without a question in my mind that the best iron on the market is none other than the 1" Ceramic Chi flat iron. It straightens, it protects from singing (while still getting incredibly hot), and, with rounded edges, you're able to add a curl to your hair without having to bust out the curling iron. Priced at around $100, it's a wise investment for those of you looking to add a little spice to your tresses.

    Hi Melissa,

Great post! Thanks for your entry to our Shine Beauty panel. :)

One of my girlfriends showed up for dinner the other day with the most magnificent, shiny waves in her hair. She said her stylist used a ceramic flat iron to make the waves - and that I was looking at day old hair that had also endured a sweaty work-out!

After seeing the results in person, I do believe a ceramic flat iron is a good investment. Thanks for including the brand and iron size you recommend!
