My home town

Inspired by Cody and Bridget, here's what you see in my neck of the woods, Missouri:

1-3 top:  Statue of Lewis and Clark, along with their dog, Seamon near where they started their journey on the Missouri River, shopping on historic South Main, an artist at work and the Foundary Art Centre.
4 (lower left):  Christmas shopping in the Historic District includes period Santas, a Los Posadas, and a luminary filled street with 1800 era costumed carolers.
5 (lower right):  A replica of Lewis and Clark's boat set out on the 100th anniversary of their trip.

I hope you enjoy my town.  It's a great place to stroll and enjoy the slower pace of crafters and antiquing.  It's near enough to St. Louis to enjoy the atmosphere, but still small town enough to feel like home.

Your hometown looks very historic and peaceful. I live in a suburban area in CA. I have to drive to find anything historic - gold country or Yosemite. I have been thinking that it would be fun for me to take some pictures of my town and post them. I have enjoyed seeing your pictures and Bee's too.

I am still having problems with my computer, but I get online when my husband brings home his work laptop. Enjoy the rest of your winter break and have a Happy New Year :)

    Teachergirl,

Both photos are artwork from Christian Lassen.

He is know for his seascapes and my favorites- dolphins. I have a few of his smaller creations by way of statues.

he lives in Maui- and if I had known that when I was visiting my Mom- We would have done different site seeing. He's a really Hot Tamale!

    Dear Teachergirl,

Wonderful pictures!!! For a history buff like me,they were extra exciting!!! I read a book years ago called "Sacajawea,Louis and Clark Guide". The story of the exploration told from her perspective. A fantastic book and now I have seen statues of them!!!

    Blessings,love and hugs!!!
