Report AbuseI have to agree w/ Khaliela. The republican party is split into too many smaller political groups, which only hinders party unity. I think for the most part, most Americans fall right in between the ideals that both parties hold. Maybe it's time we form "the middle of the road" party, and just be done w/ this whole idea of Republicans vs. Democrats.

Report AbuseTime will tell.
Dictator? We'll see. Strong words.
Then again, I used to live in Chicago. Rich Daley as Mayor. Todd Stroger
as County Board President. And Rod Blagojevich as Governor. Feh!
Call me a refugee.;)

Report AbuseKhaliela...that's a great idea. The problem is the electoral college wouldn't allow it. Say a state has a representative of each party(say 10 different parties), and only 10 electoral votes. Who would win the state, and thus win all of the votes for that state? We need to re-write the entire system, or at least update the wording of the constitution so that it is more relevant w/ today's issues. Politics has become too much about money & political favors once elected.

Report AbuseI remember watching the Republican Convention...as the cameras panned the audience, nothing but white faces and many of them with gray hair.
This is not the old spitfire Republican Party of the past. The old GOP in Washington didn't even support McCain. The new Republicans have much infighting. The only hope is young Governor Bobby Jindal. Very bright ( Rhodes Scholar) and very articulate . The only way the Republican Party will have any impact again is through reorganization.
Sarah Palin coudn't lead a Girl Scout troop, much less this country.
