All work and No Play...

Wow, hard to believe that I have never posted a blog and yet I respond from time to time. There are so many other important ideas to read I forget I can also post my own like:

I was reading in the Chicago Tribune Red Eye (free newspaper) that Google may be making us "stoopid". This idea came from an article on an article (does that make my article the third edition? *smiles* and I am so loving that I am writing about this in my blog!) I digress, basically it was about how we spend less time reading books (they still come paper bound and sometime even with hard covers can you imagine that, I would be lost without my Kindle). We have almost stopped writing and mailing letters to people we know and love around the world (email is so much faster and cheaper, stamps went up a whole penny this year, when was the last time a loved one of yours has read your handwriting). Actually we have stopped doing other time consuming things as well because we are use to the internet giving us whatever we are looking for in an instant. Why pick up a dictionary when you can just look it up on the computer? The computer is shortening our attention spans and turning us into the ADD people we were making fun of last year.  OMG We even created a texting language to save time and money $.10 per text can add up especially when you are sending 100 to get your point across to 3 people on different service plans.  

Seriously, there are at least three sides to every story, his idea, her idea and the truth of the matter. We do spend a lot of time on the internet the jokes about reaching the end of the internet have stopped, not that it was ever even remotely true in the first place but a nice funny idea at the birth of DSL. We know everything we ever wanted to know and some things that we didn't want to know about everybody. Thanks to video cameras in our cell phones what is done in Vegas can be half way around the world by noon the next day and back to Vegas by midnight. The minute you walk out of your door
Big Brother and anyone else that may be bored at the time may be able to watch you, especially if you are famous.  I may use this fact to bribe my girls to be good when they get older, "If you want to be rich and famous one day you better be angels now or someone will sell a tape of what you did wrong to the media or post it on the web!" Do we really need to know what music is on Obama'a ipod? Is Shaq not suppose to have down time around "friends"? When I sneeze in my car is the person on the cameras at the stop lights and some intersections saying "Bless You" (See you ask us to share our opinions and I channel George Carlin)

Yeah, this is a little on the deep end but can someone tell me how deep really when you can give me your opinion of what I have posted here as easily as you could tie your shoes.

Here and now, the only thing you have partial control of is yourself, what are you going to do with all that power?
