It is never too late to accomplish a goal such as getting a college degree. I finished college three years ago. Its the best thing I have done. I have a child and completing your education shows your children that education is a foundation that allows them to be able to hopefully have a career they enjoy as oppose to a job. Getting my bachelors and changing careers has been a life changing experience that I have no regrets and encourage many to do.

I am 43, just went back last year-getting back into the medical feild, going to take me forever but in four years I will be four years older either way-I woke up one day to the fact that my husband may not be forever and i don't want to be the person who can't take care of herself and her children because i have been home with kids for the past 12 years. It was SCARY going back and I always feel so stressed out first day of a new class-but most of the kids are nice and even though i am older then alot of the others everyone has been really nice to me-even the cute boys want to sit by me.With nurseing so hot right now there is alot of older students- do it or you will look back in four years thinking I could be done now-I made a mistake

Completing college is the only item on my "list to accomplish" that I made at the time of dicorce over 20 yrs ago that I have not completed. I still have the desire to do so and would encourage you to do so at any age. It has certainly gotten more difficult with the cost, ect. but anything is possible. I still hope that I will do more with education. Any education received today is more than one had yesterday and it is one of few things that can absolutely do no harm.

You go girl!!!!!! I am 31 and have done accounting since I was 20 but I have no degree. Trust me they treat the girls with degrees like they are better than me. When my son starts school in fall 09 I will be in line to get my 2 yr. assoc. degree in accounting.

GO FOR IT! I am not in your shoes right now, but I do work in higher education and I see people succeed at all ages every day. Just think... Let's say college will take you 4 years- in 4 years, you will be 45 years old no matter what, whether or not you attend school.... the days are going to pass either way, so why not make the most of them! Might as well be 45 with a degree under your belt. Don't worry about your age, education is for everyone who wants it. I applaud you.

Your golden. im 20 years old and i go to a communitty college. I take sevral night classes and they are filled with adults around your age. Its actually quite refreshing to be around people who are mature and serious about school. I say go for it... its never too late.

Go back to school I did. I am 50 this year and in my second year of college. I raised our four boys worked two jobs most of my life to get them through college. When I get my BA in Criminal Justice, I will enter the world of one job people and start my new life. It's never too late to do something for yourself.

"Perspective is a tough thing to keep, especially when things get tough, but I try. I try to remember what it was like before I became a mom, when I was just a tough-cookie career woman. Coming home from difficult days at work I’d try to drown out the stress with a workout, some silly TV, going for a walk and grabbing some takeout with my husband. It helped, but nothing helps like a smile and a hug from my daughter, and knowing (however difficult it might be to remind myself of this after a punching-bag day) that everything is just fine as long as I can come home and be her mom."
