Recently my department moved into a building that is at least
two miles away from where we used to be located, completely away
from the rest of the company, including our "cafeteria". I
used to be able to just walk across the street to get breakfast or
lunch. Now we have to call in our orders to be
delivered....and we can't use cash, only by credit card.
WTH? Does nobody carry around cash anymore?
Also, since we're so far away from the "rest of the world", we get
totally forgotten about. In our new office we have a
breakroom with microwaves and a sink, but do you think we can keep
our plasticware stocked? Of course not. We're lucky if
they're restocked by our "cafe" once a month.
I've learned to bring my own silverware from home.
And then today? We have vending machines, one in which has
drinks, sandwiches, soups, etc., it even has Easy Mac. I went
in this morning to get a bottle of OJ to quench my thirst. I
pull it out and it looks all funky. I take a gander at the
"Best if used by" date. Ya'know what it says? May 9,
2008! That's right, folks. That's not a typo.
That bottle's been in there for over 5 frikkin' months!
What is wrong with these people? Grrr!!!
