There was an article in yahoo, that appeared a few days
back. It was a survey about migration to another
country.
Where are you from? Would u consider moving your family
to another country for greener pastures?
I'm from Asia and though we are not rich, we live a fairly
comfortable life... our own house, a family car, two live-in
housemaids/ nannies, yearly vacations.
What we don't have, which makes us envy developed countries are
: free medical services including medicines (our company
provides for them to a limited extent), free quality education (we
put our kids to expensive private schools), and we don't have,
what you call 401K fund.. Though we live fairly comfortably,
we worry about when we grow old.. most American senior citizens go
to cruises, vacations. I'm not sure we'll be able to
afford that.
We might not have the 401K savings, the company usually provides an
amount for years of services rendered, and our plan is to use the
money to infuse more capital in our small business. We
established a small company that we can focus on, after we
retire.
What's the direction of your family?

Report AbuseIf the Health Care bill is signed into law, I'm packing. If cap and trade is signed into law, I'm out. I fought for this country, I raised a kid to adulthood loving this country, and I would die for this country but, if the majority has become Marxist sheep, then I'm gone. I won't pay for a single bum. I'd rather sit on a beach in Belize drinking a couple fingers of anejo tequila on the rocks. In other words, yes.

Report AbuseYou're concerned about financing your retirement. Do your two live-in housemaids/nannies have similar concerns? Are they relatives, or were they kidnapped so you get em for free? Don't glamorize free medical, because it's financed by those who can afford it and enjoyed by those who can't. If you're not poor, you will pay one way or another. And you'll be on a waiting list for care. If you have live-in help so that you don't have to care for your own children or clean your own mess, you're not poor and you exceed comfortable by American standards. I'd move to another country only if I would be afforded the same freedom I currently enjoy as an American.

Report AbuseI'm from NY, and also a first-generation American in my family. I'm always interested in visiting other countries for their culture and whatnot, see how it is in other places besides America, maybe for a month. But I can't imagine myself not living in America. What if in another country you don't have your freedom of speech, the government is corrupt, you can't do this or that, etc. I saw a lot of australias in previous comments, I extremely hate being hot lol.

Report AbuseI'd like to live in another country, but it's not because America is somehow lacking. I'd like to move to Paris for a few years. Maybe Sydney? Maybe Japan? Just because it's different.
