Rosemary and Thyme the ultimate in mysteries

Did you like Anne of Green Gables, Miss Marple, or Cagney & Lacey?  This tv series is sure to please any gardener and mystery lover.  Put your name on the reserve list at your local library for this fun DVD now.  You might have to wait awhile.

The British tv show is about 2 gardeners who end up solving mysteries.  If you don't like mysteries, watch it for the stunning gardens that the British do best.   The visual effects remind me of Anne of Green Gables.  The mysteries are cleverly woven like Agatha Christies' Miss Marple.  The we can-solve it spirit reminds me of Cagney and Lacey.

Felicity Kendal stars as Rosemary Boxer, who loses her job as a university horticulturist.  She finds her own work for private gardens and stumbles upon a murder or two.

Pam Ferris,   who starred in Harry Potter and Matilda ,  stars as Laura Thyme, a former police officer, who is dumped by her husband and must create a new life for herself.  She meets Rosemary and the mysteries begin.

Sadly, Rosemary and Thyme began in 2003 and ended in 2007.  There are 3 series (seasons) available on DVD from amazon.com  or the library. This is a must see mystery series. You will not be disappointed.

    Dear Justokay,

You are a lot more than "just okay" with me.

What got my attention here at first was my love of that wonderful centuries-old song "Scarborough Fair."

I love BBC productions and am an anglophile in many ways. I love *Benny Hill*, *Kenny Everett*, "Are You Being Served?*, etc., and even the rowdy *Who Dares Wins* which was actually banned in England at one point.

I have not heard of this one before, but I will be on the look-out for it. I will check next vist to the video store.

Thank you, Morethanjustokay, for your many posts here. I'll be back to check out some more of them.

    Bye now.
