Did you know: The later you retire, the higher your monthly SS payment is likely to be?
Did you know: The Social Security administration, although much maligned, is likely to be around in 30 years, still eking out benefits? So don't write it off.
BUT, did you know that your SS benefits are likely to be so small, you can't count on them for much more than, say, grocery money each month. My husband and I, together, are going to get about $24,000 a year when we retire. In 30 years, after inflation, that's not going to add up to much. We estimate that it's about 25% of what our expenses will be by then.
