Nearly 3 years ago, the CEO of Dow Chemical Co. stated that one of the reasons for mass departure of manufacturing jobs was high health care cost. Therefore, companies like Dow and others took their (and some of your) money and ran out of the US! Now as we sit in a recession with a lot of unanswered questions and pending issues as public health care (universal health care), why are we surprised? CEO’s and industry leaders told us many times that the cost of health benefits for employees is affecting the bottom line.
