Don't Fly American Airlines!

user

I just tried to change a flight from December 28, 2008 to January 4, 2009 and was met with disdain by the service representative that was assigned to my call. While my fare is non-refundable, I knew this when I booked, the stipulations that were given with the purchase were that it would cost $20 to change it if need be. Well I was wrong apparently! There is a $150 dollar charge to just change the flight, another $20 to have the representative change it (can't do it online by myself), and then the fare increase cost. So a $49 dollar ticket becomes $219!

Now I am not asking for a refund, just a date change and I am willing to pay the fare increase. With the airlines tanking like they are you wouldn't think that one would try to crap all over you when all you want to is make a change more than 3 weeks in advance.

So DON"T FLY AMERICAN!
