Disaster Year

user

As the first quarter ends to my senior year in high school, I've already learned some very interesting lessons that I won't forget anytime soon.

1.)Break ups should not be publicized.

For all the attention hogging Divas, a public break up to post on your facebook, myspace, twitter or any other s--- that gives people a "too-close-for-comfort" look into your life is just a bad idea. you might as well have your own reality show.

2.)Be careful who you trust.

This is the golden rule of high school, and I believe it should be in life. Clearly people in the world do not have the best intentions, but can be the best of actors when they need something. keeping your friends close is a good idea to help them fight away enemies, but what happens when your friend turns out to be the enemy?

3.) Be careful who you hurt.

People get hurt, no matter what the reason it always feels the same. I've hurt a lot of people. to be honest, I think some deserved it, and as for the others I would stop myself from doing that to them. No one likes getting hurt, especially if it was an accident.

4.)DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON ANYTHING
!!!!
I recently sent in my college applications, complete with my high school transcripts, letters of recommendations and SAT test scores. It took me forever to get all together, narrowing down the top twelve schools I was interested to the top five. Doing the essays took me forever and a month, Then paying up to thirty dollars per application plus the extra two dollars to send in the transcripts, which brings me to my next lesson...

5.)Save money.
I won't go on a rant about our economy or how it's hard to find a job with no experience at seventeen, (Taco bell requires a resume) But I'm living off of saved up lunch money. Senior year is expensive as hell. Theres a lot to pay for and I only get five to ten dollars a week. And I get hungry at lunch. sadly, I'm one of the few students at my high school to pay full price for lunch, which is 2.40 (btw if anyone is hiring, email me please!)

well, My first period class (Journalism, ha-ha) is nearly over. Hopefully this quarter won't be such a disaster. I'm off to American Government.
