Angel Sightings

Heedless white water birds took flight
Flying off into oblivion for all they knew
Into the concrete colored fog
But memory or the smell of water drew them on
Gliding across the abyss on the wings of dreams
Daybreak at the edge of a mist shrouded lake
Veiled frontiers
An impenetrable day
And the possibility of Angels
Unaware and unseen
Dealing justice or mercy
or both.
Somewhere in the mist.
