You have PMS mail

pms_personality.jpg
I suffer from--well, I'm going to come right out and say it--kind of horrible and egregiously painful menstrual cramping. Sure, there's a logical explanation (backed up by medical science) for my monthly pain and misery, but that doesn't improve my mood when I'm wincing and popping Advil like Pez. Esteban has learned to treat me with kid gloves (or perhaps like someone holding hostages in a convenience store), and takes my grumpy utterances with a shaker of salt. But getting to this understanding has taken YEARS of arguments and tears before he understood that yes, I was less pliable, friendly or forgiving during the lead-in days up to my princess time and the resulting 2.5 days of cramping.

What to do when your pms chocolate craving is driving you to distraction

Like any survival instinct, he's learned to look for signs that I'm about to channel Zuul. For instance, he can sense a slight difference in my pheromones (I know, right?) and also, apparently I start suggesting red meat for dinner options rather than my usual vegetarian or chicken suggestions. Now there's a shortcut to this kind of insight: the new PMS Buddy is a free online tracking system that allows the other people in your life to get a little e-mailed reminder that you're not going to let them get away with their usual brand of bull sh*t starting, say, next Wednesday. Currently, the site is tracking 1,201 people as of this morning, with 3 unlucky ladies getting PMS today and 22 starting within the next 5 days.

It doesn't seem statistically possible, does it? If the average menstrual cycle is 28 days (roughly) then there should be many more people getting close to their period in the next 5 days, right? Yes, but since the site is brand spanking new and you sign up to track a woman based on the first day of her period, the numbers are a little wacky right now, and it should start to track over the next month as more people start having first days. Either that or there really is more to this whole "synchronizing periods" thing than the medical industry understands.

Back in the day, the recommend from drs. was to have orgasms as it helped the spasms and cramping. Raspberry tea as well. I kid you not.

    Worked then, worth a try.

Just hide all the sharp objects.
