What Cause Will You Be Running/Walking For This Year?

user

Since the new year kicked in I decided to live a happier, healthier life.  I've started eating better, I run up and down 3 flight of stairs everyday at work instead of taking the elevator, and when I have available time to workout i'll pop in my Zumba DVD's and do their cardio dances for about 30 minutes three times a week.  My goal is to lose 20 pounds in six months (I'm being realistic here), the amount I am currently overweight.  So my plan isn't to lose weight to be thin, but to be healthy.  Now though, I've been thinking about signing up for a charity race to motivate me to keep going on my healthy plan and to also do something different for a good cause.  So lately I've been looking intoCoaster Run 5K, 10K & Camp Snoopy Kids Run in Buena Park, California.  The cause is to raise money for the Speech and Language Development Center in Buena Park.  I'm choosing the 5k (3 mile) run and I'm a bit nervous because I've never done anything like this before, nor have I ever run this much either.  I know I have the option of walking also, but I've always preferred running and I know that having a goal with inspire me to keep going!

So tell me, what cause will you be running for this year and how will you go about training for it?
