Basically, tinnitus can best be described as internal or inner ear feedback, similar to the noise which happens when a microphone is placed too close to a speaker.Mine is a high pitched ,shrill noise which has gotten progessively worse over the last few months. Sometimes I have to jam earplugs as far into my ears as possible without pain to prevent the feedback from resonating in my eardrums..Its absolute torture. If I were offered all the money in the world or getting rid of the ringing, I would say "keep the money".Some individuals actually have operations to BECOME DEAF in an ear in order to stop the ringing. I know I'm not the only one suffering from this condition.

Report AbuseYes I have a slight case of it and my boyfriend has it too..He has to sleep with the fan on at night, other wise it bugs him and it is hard for him to sleep some nights. He thinks his is from all the loud music , when he was a lead singer in a band.....

Report AbuseUnfortunately, hearing is a sense all too often taken for granted. It's only when you start losing it or suffering some condition that you realize how important it is. Whenever you're around loud noise(>85 decibels),make sure to wear adequate hearing protection. Hearing loss, as far as I know,is irreversible

Report AbuseLike I said, protect what hearing you have left. You can go to an ENT(Ear,Nose and Throat) doctor or an Audiologist to get another opinion. Be careful of the tinnitus scams on the internet professing cures for it. I haven't tried any, but from what I understand, there is no cure.
