I smoke if I get irritated, after a meal, on the way to work, AT work (big time...probably the most at work) on the way home from work, etc. Well it is time I say goodbye to this costly (not to mention deadly) habit.
I am done smelling smoky, and I am tired of my house smelling smoky. I don't want my pets subjected to it anymore either. As much as most smokers deny their dirty little habit is a crutch, I admit it is in my life. And I am ashamed. But its the truth. Whenever I get especially stressed, the cigarette is the first thing I reach for to make me feel better.
Anyway, today is starting the 5th or 6th time I have tried to quit. This will be the last. I've been here at work for seven hours, and I still have four more to go. Its been hard not smoking today whenever a customer frustrated me but I am pressing on. I'm hitting the gym later, I am hoping that my workout performance will improve also. I know it will. I just have to retrain my mind.
Anyone have any relevant quitting tips? I'd love to hear how you conquered quitting!

Report AbuseEliminate the comfort settings for smoking.
Don't smoke in your car.
Don't smoke in your house.
Don't smoke anywhere that you can sit, relax, and enjoy smoking.
Make it a chore, and ultimately you will resent having to get up, and go outside to smoke.
It helped when I quit, but I ultimately came back.
Good luck!
