Put down the Red Bull and no one gets hurt

Now that the weather is heating up, quenching your thirst and rehydrating becomes top priority--but be careful when picking a tasty bevvie. It seems that more and more people are getting admitted to hospitals, complaining of nausea, heart palpitations and excessive sweating after consuming energy beverages. It seems that the highly-caffeinated soft drinks definitely kick up the metabolism, but teens and party goers tend to consider them interchangeable with a normal can of soda. The popularity of energy drinks continues to grow, and even Mickey D's is testing the buzz by offering Red Bull at select locations this summer.

I'm not sure how safe they are, but considering that I--a bona fide caffeine addict--can tell the difference in my alertness when I switch from my typical vodka/cran or vodka/Diet Cokes to vodka/Rock Star, I knew that the caffeine has to be significant. However, I had no idea that serving for serving, Rock Star has more than three times the caffeine as Diet Coke. I can't really drink more than one glass of the stuff without getting tremendous heartburn (sucks to get old), but if folks are drinking four or more servings of the stuff, they're ingesting a crazy amount of additives. Eeek, no wonder folks are experiencing side effects! Be safe out there, chicas!

I love my sugar free Red Bull. After spending 6 hours in front of a spreadsheet at my office It is just the pickup I need. RockStar is crazy dangerous, I wouldn't touch the stuff if my life depended on it.

Sugar-free Red Bull is the way to go!
