Is the price too high for some medical advances?

In light of the recent commitment by the federal
government to fund embryonic stem cell
research; I would like to know why there is no media
attention being given to the moral debate over embryonic stem-cell research?
Regardless of what our personal opinions shouldn’t we at least
explore the justification of these actions? I have had to do my own
research regarding the topic as there has been little to no media
attention given to the moral debate over how embryonic stem-cell is
carried out. In abortion discussions at least there is a moral
debate taking place; the rights of the mother vs. the rights of the
fetus. Essentially fertilized eggs will be grown in test tubes and
once the fetus reaches proper development the stem-cells will be
extracted and the fetus killed. Are we treating human life with no
more regard than we do crops, harvesting human fetuses? I am all
for stem-sell research, but there are other ways to obtain them
such as thru umbilical cord
blood. These ways are logistically more difficult and would
be costly however they are effective and can be utilized. Though
other stem-cells are obtainable, embryonic stem-cells are the
fastest way to results; but since when does the end justify the
means. Shouldn’t we at lest be questioning what is taking place or
do we see the benefits and not care at all how those benefits are
obtained. Why is television news media not covering this?
Is it because the typically liberal media is afraid of a
debate that given all the information they may not win? This is as
big as Rowe V Wade and getting no attention. What
concerns me most is not that my side of the moral debate isn’t
“winning” it’s that there is no moral debate. Right or wrong people
should at least care enough to form an
opinion.

Dear oohay,
It is obvious that you are very misinformed and have little or no scientific background. Please do more research on Stem Cells and spend less time with the right-wing ultra conservatives alarming the masses of what "stem cell research" is based on their vastly delusional scope of reality and abortion...since stem cell research has nothing to do with abortion or harvesting babies...dear God!!!
There are many credible books published for the scientific illiterate, with the sole purpose as to inform with the "truth" of such research. You don't have to be a cell biologist to get to the truth, just open to such matters of the intelligent masses.
Sincerely,

At the end of it all it was Michael's body of work and talent that shined best!
Sorry you hated him..., but I DIDN'T--I leave my judging to God Almighty!
Thank for coming by

You said : He died, that doesn’t command any respect, its what you do when you’re alive that matters. He was a self-indulgent child molester who happened to sing and dance well. He didn’t use his fame as a platform for good. He was a disgusting shell of a person, good riddance.
Shut the hell up you ignorant ass piece of s--- I'm pretty sure when you die nobody would know about it or even care! I'm happy I don't know a sick son of a b**** like you!
