Simple And Delicious Apple Cider

user

Autumn is prime apple season, and apple cider is a delicious and healthy beverage perfect for this time of year.  It's fancy enough for entertaining but easy enough to prepare for a nice evening at home with the family.

Apple cider can be found in the grocery stores in half gallon and gallon quantities.  But why buy it prepackaged when you can make it yourself so easily at home?  With just a few ingredients you can have a delicious homemade apple cider.

Ingredients:
Premium apple juice (I really like Simply Apple)-64 oz.
4 Cinnamon Sticks (extra for garnish if desired)
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 inch piece fresh ginger
1 teaspoon whole allspice
10x10 inch piece of cheesecloth
Piece of string

Directions:
Wrap up the spices in the cheesecloth and tie with a string.  Pour apple juice into a saucepan and heat to a simmer over a medium heat.  Place bag of spices into the juice, then reduce heat to low.  Continue to simmer for 30 minutes.  Pour into a mug, garnish with a cinnamon stick, and enjoy!

*Add a dash of brandy for a warm and tasty party drink!
