Delicious: 20 dishes in 20 minutes (each)

I always love recipes that not only promise lightning fast results, but give you a very specific time frame in which they will be completed: you will have a steaming hot dish on your table in exactly 20 minutes! they say. And I always wonder, do they take into account how long it takes to assemble your ingredients? To figure out where the heck you left your mustard powder, which you haven't used since the Clinton administration, to find a clean knife, to eye all your bowls and very carefully and with great deliberation select the correct size? Do they take into account, once you are in the thick of things, your average chopping speed, how good you are at, say, separating an egg without sliming your entire kitchen and the dog, the point where you remember oh no, I forgot to measure out three and four quarters teaspoons of sesame seeds while you are in the middle of whisking a sauce that will burn if you stop, even for a split instance. I suspect, in the end, not. But I suspect that even without those very important considerations taken into consideration that these 20 recipes from Cooking Light are going to be lightning fast indeed. Just a few good ingredients, some easy techniques, and bam, you have got chicken dinner on the table tonight. Maybe in 30 minutes, if you can't find your damn zester.

Do readers of Cooking Light ever get bored of chicken? it's in all 20 recipes. I may be biased, as I was a vegetarian for 4 years and still eat meat very rarely, but some of those recipes sound like they'd be better with other types of protein. The first one, a tostada, would be great with black beans instead of chicken. There were at least two Asian-inspired dishes in there that could have tofu, shrimp, lean beef. A panini and another Italian dish that could have eggplant (okay, not really a protein source, but still yummy) instead of chicken. I think there was a citrus/herb grilled chicken in there that could make great fish recipe. Seriously, mix things up a little.

Wow, I have to say I agree with the first two comments! Regarding the first comment, I was JUST thinking two minutes ago how annoying it is with many of these Shine articles, you always have to keep clicking somewhere else to get the rest of the article or even the main article at all. Why can't they put it all on one page with one-click access? If I have to click on another link or open another window, I just don't bother to continue (with the speed of my computer, it is VERY annoying). Now if they want to put in links to something else, let it be something related, but not the actual article I am trying to read. Just a suggestion!
