Would a Britney and Justin duet hurt Timberlake’s career?

Could it be true? Will the Mickey Mouse Club co-stars be reunited for a duet? Britney Spears is currently working on a new album and chugging along at a very slooow/almost non-existent comeback and we think—rather we KNOW—recording a smash hit with her can-do-no-wrong ex-bf Justin Timberlake could be exactly what she needs to take back her throne as the princess of pop. OK! claims that is precisely what is in the works. Please don’t tease us!

Madonna recently said she would love to reunite the couple during her world tour—Britney has recorded a video that will play during Madonna’s concerts while Justin appears on Madonna’s single “4 Minutes.” Meanwhile, Britney allegedly turned down the opportunity to work with Justin on her last album, Blackout, and we thought she was bananas.

Now the question remains: would Justin be willing to work with Brit again? Since their breakup in 2002 Timberlake recorded “Cry Me a River” and “What Goes Around Comes Around,” both rumored to be about Britney’s supposed adulterous ways. He’s come a long way in his career and working with a washed up, pop has-been would definitely be back tracking career-wise. But wouldn’t a nice, charitable favor along with potentially being responsible for reviving Britney’s career be enough incentive for Justin to give it a shot?

Do you think Justin recording a duet with Britney would hurt his career or generate positive buzz and resurrect her suffering singing career? [OK

Wow. I think that the rumors of their getting back together would damage both of these stars: Justin would be damaged by the thought that he would touch her with a ten-foot pole, and Britney would be damaged by the thought that he wouldn't.

It's true that such a duet would be an act of charity. Some have even argued that Britney's career and life are in the toilet specifically BECAUSE of her breakup with Justin all those years ago.

Then again, it might be a pretty catchy dance beat - throw in a little Timbaland!

who among us is perfect? Ok thought so. Hey give it a try! Truthfully, I always thought JT's What goes around, was meant for Brit! True friends are there for each other when all is said and done.

Justin should NOT do it. She would make a fool out of him. Britney needs to give up and focus on getting well and taking care of her kids. Maybe in a few years she could attempt a come back. Now is not the time.

I think she needs to be a mom "First" and get her kids back.

I'm going to have to agree with some of the comments that maybe she should concentrate more on her kids then her music. Granted I've never been a big Britney fan but I think she should take some time, now that she is well, and focus on the kids that have been ignored for awhile.

Will a duet with Britney hurt JT's career? Probably not. The man is currently untouchable. But then again a duet would spark new rumors that the two are more then just friends and that might do it. So I'm on the fence though JT might help her make better music. *I've never thought she was a great singer not like I dunno Whitney Houston but thats just my opinion.*
