The decline of Jessica Simpson—booed at country music performance
Whether she was embarrassingly vacuous or not (she was), we must admit: at one point Jessica Simpson was as high on the celebrity totem pole as she could ever get. Her “is this chicken or fish” persona on MTV’s newlyweds weaseled it’s way into our hearts, but at some point after her boots walked onto the big screen to play Daisy Duke in The Duke’s of Hazzard, we’d about had it with the oversaturated empire of Jessica Simpson (hair extension and edible body product lines included). Speculation of her infidelity to ex-husband Nick Lachey didn’t help either.
Now the pop star/wannabe actress is going back to her Southern roots and trying to win back fans in a new arena: country music. Consider attempt number one unsuccessful. Jessica opened for Sara Evans with a rendition of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots are Made For Walking” and was greeted with boos. After covers of Willie Nelson's "On the Road Again," and Shania Twain's "Who's Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" along with single “Come On Over” off her upcoming country album Do You Know, the verdict was in: "It's crap," said concertgoer Ryan Sia. "She doesn't belong here." "Just because she's dating Tony Romo it doesn't make her country," said another music lover, Mike Rodriguez. "She doesn't fit in with country, and I'll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert." Another Sara Evan’s fan flat out said, "She's an embarrassment to country music.” Ouch. With no sign of return to pop, this is gonna be a long ride for Jessica.

She could make a really awesome comeback...once she finds her "niche." I've never seen her be her own person...except on the Newlyweds, its like she is always following. She shadowed Brittany, and Christina for years, ridding their coattails, now she is forced to put in work to be an original. If she can do that then she can comeback.

Where's all that cleavage now????? Jessica is nothing but a sellout. Anything good that she did have she sold for a buck to her father. Newsflash Jessica: It doesn't matter how many concert tickets you sell (or don't sell) you won't EVER be able to buy back class and dignity. Not that you ever had it.....

It’s really sad. She I still finding herself. I think she should take time off, away from camera lights and everyone. To focus on herself. She actually stated off as a Christian artist. Maybe that’s the calling she is avoiding.

This idiot is and was a no talent waste.she looks like a horse, has horse teeth,a horse mane.Why would one of the best industries in the world embaress the bussiness by putting that thing out therE? The public is totally sick of her,but yet the industry does all they can by shoving her up our backends....REALLY! JUST SEND HER AND HER DADDY PACKING TO THE HORSE FEILDS,MAYBE SHE COULD COME THE HORSES TAILS,MAYBE THE PORNO INDUSTRY COULD HIRE HER AS YOU KNOW A HIGH CLASS STAR.....LIKE HOW ABOUT MISS JESSY DUKE MEETS MR.ED'S SISTER?
