Is Matthew McConaughey fit to be a dad?

If K-Fed can win a custody battle, then anyone can be a dad right? Well… that doesn’t quite mean everyone is equipped for fatherhood. Thirty-eight-year-old Matthew McConaughey, known for his hard-partying ways, exhibited some interesting behavior while in the delivery room on July 7 when his baby mama Camila Alves gave birth to their son Levi. "I sat there with her, right between her legs.,” says McConaughey. “We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.” Spinning music in the hospital? Interesting technique—perhaps it distracted his girlfriend from the pain. "We ended up having an epidural because, on the large contractions, the umbilical cord was being compressed," says the actor, adding, "this is where I learned — and no one tells you this — but having a baby is a bloody, pukey, sweaty, primeval thing! And I mean that as a beautiful thing." Right, because who doesn’t love bloody and pukey?

As for determining the sex of the child: no one can get one past eagle-eye McConaughey. "I said, 'Come here, little man.' I saw the pecker and screamed that we'd been right all along about him being a boy.” Call it paternal intuition.

Do you think Matthew is too immature to handle fatherhood? [NY Daily News]

He knocked up his girlfriend and not only stuck around, but dove in head first (i hope only metaphorically!!) to parenthood. Sounds good to me.

He's a family oriented man who is respectful to the women in his life, including his mama...And he is obviously ecstatic over this baby. He has the financial security to give a child everything he needs and more. Sounds like he's got the makings of a good dad to me! So what if he's a little weird!?

I do have to wonder why he never caught on that birthing is a messy endeavor, though. I guess when not surfing the waves, he's got his head stuck in the sand (or between Camilla's...oh nevermind!)

So he's a little airy. I doubt he's the first, and won't be the last. He'll do as good a job as any of us who love our kids do.

Yes I think he is going to be a good dad.So he has a little party life in his past.Who doesn't.Just because he is an actor and had a bundle of money we as real people look at him as weird. We all are weird. He will be fine. And I mean real people by saying we ain't rich like some.We live the real life. The hard life. But yes he will be a good daddy.

he's a little eccentric, but will probably be a great dad. He has embraced fatherhood from the beginning of girlfriend Camila's pregnancy, which is a good sign. Even if they don't last, he seems like he would always be there for his child.

Sure he's an oddball... but I think that makes for a wonderful dad!

What man is fit to be a dad? So far so good on his part. If he's to wander off - oh well... Just another celebrity scandal to hit the media is all.

As far as K-Fed, come on are you joking - a homeless person would have been better off taking those boys away from Brit.

He's eccentric, and actually sounds like he'll be funny, insightful, outstanding and great as a Dad.

I think he'll be fine. As others have said, he stuck around when his girlfriend got pregnant. He's been enthusiastic from the get go. Yeah, he's a little flaky but that's OK. He's so mellow that nothing will rattle him. I think he'll be a cool hip dad.

“(Miley Cyrus) is just a little too tarty, forgive me. I don’t want her to look like she’s going into a convent school, but it’s just a little too much for a 15-year-old,” - Tim Gunn of "Project Runway"
