Want Straight Hair? DON'T Use These Products

You know what really gets me? When a product claims that it "helps straighten" or "fights frizz" and it actually does, like, the total opposite. Why would I want to waste my money and time on something that makes my hair look worse than it did to begin with?

In one of my many attempts to prevent further mass-frustration, I give you the list of TotalBeauty.com readers' least-favorite hair straightening products. Read them, click them (to see why they're lame), and then don't buy them. Instead, buy one of these products that are actually worth it.

No. 10: L'Oreal Paris Vive Pro Smooth Shampoo, $3.99, TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 6.5 (out of 10)

No. 9: Dove Smooth & Soft Anti-Frizz Cream, $3.29, rating: 6.3

No. 8: Got2b CrazySleek Hot Smooth Flat Iron & Blow Dry Lotion, $3.89, rating: 6.2

Hey habanero, I've been wondering about the instyler I needed to hear something good from someone who has one and uses it all the time. Thanks I will order one. I like my hair straight once in a while. I don't usually fuss with it too much during the weekdays because I work in an office around a bunch of guys and none of them give a crap about what my hair looks like. ha ha ha. Thanks

I have wavy/curly hair that is hard to straighten. I use the John Freida Frizz Ease line and they work great! The straightening products are the only ones that ever get my hair straight (of course with the help of a blow dryer, round brush and flat iron) - works much better for me than the expensive salon brands.
