User Post: Es-Stay Lauder!
OK, I'm sold! Every
cosmetics line has to have a go at "All Day", "Kiss
and Stay", never re-apply lipstick. (Personally, I never
really minded the necessity of re-applying---just a girly little
thing to do occasionally, but hey, that's just me!) But now
comes Estee with their latest go at all day wear, "Double
Wear" lipstick with 12-hour staying power. I had a chance to
test it over this weekend and I must say ladies, this lipstick
sticks! The advertising says its "creamy and smooth with a
satin shine". Though I'm a new fan, I'd quibble just a
bit with the description. It goes just a little bit
"tacky" on the lips...not sticky, but not quite
"smooth". Also, I see it as more to the mat side than
"satin". I bought Stay Plumberry and Stay Mocha and
I'd have to say that the Mocha was so close to the color of my
own lips that it wasn't powerful enough for a lipstick queen
like me and that "Plumberry" was, to me, more Fuchsia
than plummy. But I have never know if we should take lipstick names
like that to literally describe a color. I think not. The tube is
Estee-chic, gold over a sort of lapis blue bottom. A male friend
who was around this weekend for my experimenting told me that the
tube looked like a high-end shotgun shell! I'm not experienced
enough in the field, so if you have a hubby or boyfriend that's
a hunter-dude, I suppose you could ask him. All I could do was to
say something like; "Well then, come over here and put a big
ka-boom on my kisser"! Details next week. So in the final
analysis, go for it! After all Estee is Es-Stay!
