Now that I'm past the 20's and 30's and am in the soon to be 41 category, I have settled into a few basics that I require: olive oil, eyeliner, foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow and a blurry mirror (denial). I should belong to an infomercial anonymous club or sucker of the month club given the amount of money I have spent on the latest guaranteed products to look better, retain youthful looks and curb aging. I've tried creams, foams, botox and the list continues. A couple of months ago, I read interesting research about olive oil and the history around its use. Olive oil not only cooks up a nice meal but it's good for the skin both with consumption as well as application to the skin. Although there are many critics on the efficacy of olive oil applied topically, I'm a firm believer that it has helped my skin appear more supple and has reduced my crow's feet. As a bonus, not only does it also make my foundation last longer as I apply it after waiting a few minutes thus requiring less foundation but it's also convenient as a cook-and-wear product.
