More On Gurhan!

Well, Faithful Readers, we here at The Dress Press were fortunate to have been able to dash up to New York recently, for a quick round of our favorite stores! Such little trips do so help one keep her perspective! Otherwise we would begin to think that the world begins and ends with a click of the mouse. Anyway, dahlings, just below you will see our first post on the Gurhan jewelry line. We went by Saks Fifth Ave. to see it in person and we were quite simply overcome! The line is AWESOME! So much more impactful in person! The 24k hammered, antiquey gold is so gorgeous and Gurhan does know how to contrast beautiful jewel tones with the gold. The earrings are stunning, but our fave pieces are the rings. We didn't post any pictures of rings here, because the pictures we have just do not do them justice. If you are soon to be near a Sak's, DON'T MISS SEEING THIS LINE IN PERSON! We would also take note that Sak's in NY was packed! The last two times we had been there over the last several months, it was like a ghost town. Is the economic turn beginning? May we say that we adore, revere and love Sak's NY, but walking through the first floor cosmetics counters has taken on all the charm of a raucous Turkish bazaar. Every salesperson seems compelled to urge you to stop with entreaties made to make you feel terrible if you don't. "Yo, ya want some makeup?" Well, that's an exaggeration, but whatever happened to a leisurely, undisturbed stroll through all those wonderful counters, with all that beautiful makeup without feeling that if you don't buy something a family will have no dinner this evening?
