Mid-Life Crisis Mom seeks Lipstick Soulmate

I am past the point where I am trying to attract a man with makeup and feminine wiles, but not old enough that I would frighten the people I work with by not wearing any.

The one beauty item I cannot live without is lipstick.  I really like to wear a long wearing lipstick, but I haven't discovered my lipstick soulmate quite yet.

I have tried the new Lip Stain, but that goes on like a marker and has a weird saccharin flavor.  I have found that some of the other long lasting brands dry my lips out, or require a two-step process to apply, and lets face it, the simpler the better when I am trying to push my kids out the door and grab a cup of coffee to go before heading to work to show my smiling (and hopefully made up) face to the teachers and kids that I work with.

One of these days they will come out with a self-applying caffeinated lipstick that lasts for a week, but until then I'll keep looking.

    Hi April,

Thanks for your entry to our Shine Beauty panel :)

I've always wondered about lip stain products, so jt was great reading your experiences. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll invent a self-applying caffeinated lipstick -- with SPF.. ha!

We hope to announce our Shine Beauty Gurus at the end of the week. Stay tuned and good luck.
