Sometimes, I truly, deeply feel sorry for Hollywood actresses. Take, for example, Jessica Alba, who, in the March issue of ELLE magazine, talks about trying to get back into shape unhumanly fast after giving birth to her daughter, Honor. In the story, Alba describes workouts so horrible and strenuous, they made her cry.

Another trial she endured for beauty's sake? “I wore a girdle," she says. "Eight weeks after my girlfriend had her baby, you could see her six-pack. She told me to put an elastic band around my waist—any kind of band or girdle works. She was like, 'I slept in it.' I didn’t recover as fast as she did. I [still] don’t have a six-pack.”

All of this torture wasn't even for a film role—it was so the 27-year-old could star in Campari's new ad campaign (and so, if you remember, the company could airbrush her perfectly gorgeous body anyway).

Further in the ELLE story, Alba talks about what it feels like to give birth ("Contractions aren’t that bad. If you’ve ever had bad cramps? That’s what they’re like. But that moment when they put the baby on your chest—that’s deep. It’s a deep experience.”), her new separation anxiety ("I never cried before. Just being a mother is making me a big, weepy mess.”), and, of course, fashion (“I’ve always loved beautiful clothes, but I’m not very hip to the coolest, newest, most fashionable thing."). She seems considerably vulnerable and, honestly, lovable. Check out the whole story here, become a Jessica Alba fan. It's Okay, you should. The girl's been through enough.

Do celebs stay pregnant for the whole 9 months? or do they deliver early so they dont get too fat and stretched?

Yeah, poor Jessica Alba - I feel bad for her too. It must be really difficult to know you can afford lipo if you don't want to exercise, have a personal trainer, and chef/delivery service to make sure you only eat healthy things. With people getting laid off left and right, let's all take a cue from Jennifer Romolini and feel sorry for Jessica Alba.

honestly alot of people don't like her... because of the things she's SUPPOSEDLY said..

    and the way she acts..

but i love her. she doesn't seem fake or out to get the world to love her.

she knows she's hot, she owns it, she doesn't really care about anyone else but her daughter and i think its awesome.

she seems like a strong woman..

I can't believe her friend told her to wear a girdle even to sleep in hopes of getting a 6pack... mm not a great friend. You could seriously over-heat yourself wearing those for too long and if they gave you a six pack I'm sure a lot of people would wear them more often.

Furthermore- I'm with you ComedyFan, all the way. I'm sure Jessica Alba is crying herself all the way to the bank.

It is sad that their profession forces them to go through the stress of looking a certain way. I stay fit, but some days I do not feel like looking good for anyone. I like being myself. I can't imagine the pressure she faces.

So what about the rest of us who bare children on a regular basis and have to battle the bulge on our own. Yeah she put her foot in her mouth. The rest of us don't have the luxury of doing our own nip tuck thing. I do agree that that is one of the pitfalls of being famous, you are expected to look flawless 24 7. So I consider myself extremely Blessed that noone should give a crap! But really Jessica, spare us.

Waaaaaaah. Poor poor Jessica. You mean she actually had to WORK for something??? Give me a break. I'm still working hard to get my pre-baby body back. If she doesn't like being in the spotlight, then she should move on. Stop whining about what us "mortals" have to do every day.

lol, I did nothing after I gave birth and im back to my old body. Its just stretchmarks I have to deal with since I was skinny and tall before the pregnancy. I loved giving birth and I felt the same way as well when I saw my lil Emily.
