Is there such a thing as being too pale?

I've always been pretty pasty myself. Once the summer months come, I have to get out my SPF 30 and spend minimal time on the beach, unless I want to turn into a burned, freckled mess. While I use bronzer year round to keep from looking corpse-like, I've given up on my self-tanner regimen. It's too much work, I can't avoid streaks, and I hate when that fake tan smell gets into my clothes.

Now take a look at this photo of Julianne Moore this past week outside her home in Malibu. (Not it's not fake--take a look at other images here.) If my skin were as ghostly pale and transparent looking as Julianne Moore's, I might consider grabbing a bottle of Lindsay Lohan's new Sevin Nyne tanning mist. I agree that you should love the skin you're in, but there's nothing wrong adding a little color to give yourself a natural glow. Think of it like adding highlights to your hair.

Do you think Julianne Moore looks too pale? Do you work on your body's pigment through makeup, self-tanner, tanning beds or baking in the sun?

Having read this article, viewed the pics and thought she looked pale but beautifully in shape and actually very pretty, I was deligted to read the comments that others have posted. I am 40 and am only now getting over the whole colour of my skin inferiority complex I had for years because of the nasty comments that have been made to me. Why is it that it is considered a "normal, healthy glow"? I am very normal and also very healthy and I AM NOT and WILL NEVER BE brownly glowing. I hate the fact that I have surrendered my power to wanting to be lemming like and am damn glad that some others seem to feel the same way!
