How To Stand Out At A Summer Wedding

Just because a wedding day is all about the bride (as it should be) doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your own personal style. Below are a few ideas to make all those weddings in your calendar an opportunity for some stand-out style.  My only rule is stay away from white..I mean, it's only fair.

1) Wear a long, chiffon printed dress.
A maxi dress is the perfect look for this season of summer weddings. It's flowing shape is fitting for a day focused on romance. Stand out from the crowd in bold peacock-inspired prints that perfectly show off your hard-earned tan.

2) Wear neutral layers of ruffles. A ruffle is a classic romantic nod and what girl doesn't love to twirl on the dance floor in a frou-frou dress. The key is not looking like a cupcake. Wear a ruffled dress in neutral hues and a belt at the waist for a sophisticated, steam-lined look.

3) Wear a floral headband.
To add major style to even your most basic dress, opt for a fun, romantic headband. Look for tulle and floral elements to keep your look in tune with the event.

$88 for a headband?! You've GOT to be kidding me! The first dress is nice but you can easily find the same thing for WAY less than the $625 it is listed for. The second dress just looks messy. But I still cannot get over the headband costing $88!

I have a wedding to go to in a month and I can't imagine wearing any of those items! I'm more apt to find a great (cheap) dress from Newport News or Banana Republic...something flowing that doesn't look like my dress got caught in a shredder (or is so peacock-y that everyone stares at me rather than the bride!).

That being said, the dresses are fine for events, just not weddings. The headband, however? I'd rather have these adorable, inexpensive pins from Forever21.

these styles are a bit expensive, however the styles themselves are meant for a younger crowd the cleavage comment is old, these are in no way inappropriate for a wedding and their tits are fully covered. i like the ruffled dress a lot its sweet and romantic. you will be noticed but the bride will still shine full on :)

I agree with everyone about the headband. Yuck! I disagee with Susan about maxi dresses, though because I've seen plenty that don't have an empire waist. I love them, but I think that most of them are inappropiate for for most weddings because most weddings are usually more formal affairs. I think that maxi dresses are okay for more casual weddings, like beach weddings. I think that the second outfit looks like a Tinkerbell coatume. As far as the cost of these items, I don't think that the writer of this blog expects everyone to spend that kind of money unless you can afford it, but to use these as an inspiration to create your own look for a wedding.

Compelled to comment because the headband was ridiculous, just because they make it doesn't mean you have to wear it. How much did they pay you to advertise such a travesty? Disgusting.

Isn't it considered RUDE to stand out more than the BRIDE. Think about it!
